POWER OF EIGHT by LYNN MCTAGGART

Book club caricature.jpeg

MANIFEST THE LIFE YOU SAY YOU WANT NOW!

Discover how to tap into your extraordinary human capacity for connection and healing, using astonishing new findings about the miraculous power of group intention and its boomerang effect.

In The Power of Eight, Lynne reveals her remarkable findings from ten years of experimenting with small and large groups about how group intention can heal our lives – and change the world for the better.

When individuals in a group focus their intention together on a single target, a powerful collective dynamic emerges that can heal longstanding conditions, mend fractured relationships, lower violence and even rekindle life purpose.

But the greatest untold truth of all is that group intention has a mirror effect, not only affecting the recipient but also reflecting back on the senders.

Lynne’s new book details her own journey to make sense of all the miracles she witnessed. She dives into the larger context of the science behind this phenomenon, drawing on esoteric and historical religious practices, studies of prayer and altruism – and finally organizing a major independent university study of Power of Eight groups to explain how and why sending altruistic thoughts of healing in a group setting is a fast track to the miraculous.

From the hundreds of case studies and a complete how-to of Lynne’s techniques, you will learn to use the collective energies of The Power of Eight and unleash the power you hold inside of you to heal your own life.

BOOK CLUB AND INTENDERS CIRCLE

Limiting this group to eight as the book suggests.  We will read this book together, uncover the highlights and use the power of intention, the group and the field to craft our own intentions and witness the results.  Each week we will learn more and share our intentions, one by one, witnesses and supported by the group.

We will meet every other Tuesday for 16 weeks - a total of 8 sessions together.

COST: $18.00 per week / $144.00 for the series

Network Spinal Analysis™ (Network Care) is a revolutionary approach to wellness that applies low force touch at spinal gateways or certain contact points on the body. These gentle contacts help to assist the brain to connect more effectively with the spine and body, so individuals can develop new strategies for living and healing.

The intent of Network Care is to enable the body's own self generated mechanisms of movement and respiration to assist in the correction of mechanical tension and interference in the nervous system. Greater self-awareness and conscious awakening of the relationships between the body, mind, emotion, and expression of the human spirit are realized through this popular healing work.

Network Care is advanced through a series of Levels, each producing specific new abilities to adapt to the environment, make healthier choices, enjoy life and develop a healthier spine. During care, two spinal 'healing' waves develop which help improve spinal and neural integrity, adaptability, and significantly advance wellness as well as quality of life.

Network Care utilizes an outcomes assessment approach that combines a self-reported wellness profile with a clinical assessment to help review the emerging options for healing and an enriched life.

NVC Advanced Class - Mourning Process, Requests and Practice

Mournings are a critical skill/understanding/practice of Nonviolent Communication.  The purpose and outcome of doing this has a wide variety of benefit.

      1.  If you are in a relationship that has struggled over time, and you are wanting to really get over things that have happened in the past, this practice is your answer.  Bringing these challenges into the present is the way to have conversations that actually can transform the past.
      2.  Remembering to accept responsibility for our part in a conflict and discuss it in a way that reflects our acknowledgement without blame is transformative.
      3.  Rather than staying in the cycle of 'doing something wrong, apologizing and/or feeling guilty, this practice will free you from this ongoing suffering.

      Making Requests

We will dive in deeply and explore this topic

      1.  The kinds of requests you can make
      2. Differentiating between requests and demands - really
      3.  Understanding the energy of making requests - slowing conversations and situations down enough to remember why we are making the request in the first place.
      4.  Coming up with way more requests (strategies) than you think possible in every scenario and then considering which ones you might make.

We will then have an opportunity to work with the Dance Floors to practice this work with each other.

Join me this morning for this essential practice.  Just doing this well will make a difference in your relationships!

A Comprehensive Introduction to Nonviolent Communication

What does it take to communicate in any relationship in a way that connects, and is in integrity with your deepest values?

Meditation, prayer, and other practices can connect you to your values. Yet, when you step back into your daily life you can get lost in a swirl of criticism, doubt, and confusion. You don't always see how to really put your values into action in the situations you encounter, especially when it gets heated between you and someone else.  You need new tools to find and express compassion, love, and honesty.  Where do you start?

        Connection & Clarity

It all starts inside of you. It’s about discovering what goes on in you from the moment you perceive something to the moment you respond. Though it might be just a split second, you cycle through a river of thoughts, impulses, images, feelings, and needs. Shedding light on this river helps you to connect to your heart and respond to what's true for you in the moment.

With more understanding and awareness, you get free from the trap of making decisions based on habits, assumptions, or what you think you “should” do.  And it's easier to communicate in the way you would like.

In this workshop you will learn to:

        • Stay centered in any situation
        • Move beyond stalemates and power struggles
        • Forgive yourself and others
        • Hear the “yes” behind every “no”
        • Express anger or disappointment without judgment or blame
        • Be flexible without being submissive
        • Enjoy openness, honesty, and appreciation
        • Share “quality time” all the time

Experience what life could be. When you see the beauty in every beast, you'll live happily ever after. Fairy tale?   Come and find out.  Join us for this comprehensive introduction to Nonviolent Communication.

NVC Advanced Class - Navigating Relationships with People who aren't into NVC

In this day's work, we will explore how to navigate a wide variety of relationships.  People ask about how it works with people who aren't into Nonviolent Communication.  Difficult People, family members who think and say things that are completely contrary to what I think.

These are the skills we will dive into deeply:

          1.  How to talk in NVC so it doesn't sound like it.
          2.  How to be in relationship with someone who isn't sharing their feelings and needs.
          3.  How to 'care' about everyone's needs, even if they don't care about my own.

We will then end the day with Dance Floors offering participants to practice in real time their NVC skills.

Focused on truly manifesting the life we say we want, we will gather and explore the means, the practice and customs that sustain us in those things.  The hope of this circle is to find sisterhood and care and connection through our practices when we gather.

Relational Activities will center around Singing, Dancing, Storytelling and Silence which cultural anthropologist, Angeles Arrien identified as the four most common ways that human create wellness, community and connection.

While open to shifts as we find how best to serve all over time, this circle will begin with a practice that looks something like this.  A blend of being led, and leading, sharing our gifts and receiving others’ wisdom, in a structure that allows for flexibility and an intention for all to deepen their sense of their own value.

Trusting spirit, our bodies, our deepest heart’s longing, our strength and each other, we build together a sisterhood deeply bonded in care.

We will shift our focus with the seasons, the first series of 5 gatherings begins On Wednesday, December 20 ~ 6pm til 8pm (the evening before the Winter Solstice.  The request is that you commit for a season, and choose after whether or not you would like to continue, ask for something different or choose something different for your life.

                  Needs for the New Year

As you likely know, resolutions rarely have the impact we are hoping for when we make them.  Statistics show that by January 18, the bulk of us have abandoned those resolutions.

In this class we will go through a process of connecting to the needs that are driving our desires to make change.  Reflecting on the year past, and identifying what you want to create and/or focus on this year, we will use our needs list to develop many strategies to meet those needs.

Having the touchstones in place, you are more able to ebb and flow with the realities of life and make new strategies to meet those needs over the long course of time.

We will be using some creative techniques to have you leave with a plan for 2018!!
