Communication Essentials: A Deeper Dive into Building Communication Skills
Join me in a fresh approach to learning and practicing your communication skills. Each month we will take a deep dive into a particular topic—one area where many people struggle—and weave in the principles of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), showing you how to make a real change in your relationships.
A Deeper Dive, Topic by Topic
Whether it is a relationship with your partner, family members, or even your children, you will find strategies in this workshop to navigate the difficult topics and situations you find yourself in.
Maybe your consistent approach has been to blurt out things you don’t want to say, likely causing hurt feelings and distress, and then following it with ongoing apologies—all resulting in more disconnection and misunderstanding. Or maybe your tendency is to go the other way—holding your thoughts and feelings in—which leads to a similar result: resignation and resentment, rather than creating the connection and shared reality that you’re hoping for.
This will be a fresh approach to the specific struggles that you face in your daily life.
You’ll no longer be stuck doing what you’ve always done—avoiding conversations that leave you feeling resigned, resentful, or both. You’ll no longer be confused about how to respond to what’s happening. These classes will offer you new information—learning the skills—as well as giving you time to practice them, over and over again.
Practice is the key to success.
No previous study of Nonviolent Communication is required. If you are a long-time NVC learner, these classes will offer you gems to make it interesting and useful. Everyone will have something meaningful to contribute.
