Winter Solstice Fire at the Sanctuary

The winter solstice arrives this year on this day at 5:23pm. This year we are blessed that the Winter Cold Moon also arises on this night, so we will have a Winter Solstice Full Moon!

Join us in the Sanctuary for our celebration of mid-winter, short days and the return of the sun. Winter inspires both joy and woe. Some people can’t wait for the cooler weather, snow, skiing and ice skating, curling up by a fire, and the holiday spirit. Other people dislike the frigid temperatures, blizzards, and wild weather.

~We will share our own stories of winter.
~We will light and tend the fire.
~We will create our own yule log weaving in our dreams for the new year + throw it into the fire —watching our hopes spread through the sky.
~You can create your own mini-yule log to take with you for your own ritual.
~Enjoy refreshments
~Bring a refreshment (food or drink) if you want to contribute in that way.
~Relax by the fire
~Dress for the weather
~Kids welcome (as long as you are tending to their needs!)
~Bring a friend.
