Dear Strength

Yesterday you showed up. I had a pile (1/4 ton) of pebbles that I wanted moved from my garden onto the pebble pad. I asked a few people to do it for me because I thought I couldn’t. I thout I wasn’t strong enough. No one came to do the work (I no longer ask twice). It was a warm enough morning, and early enough to be cool enough to try. I decided that I would just do one shovelful. Then two. Then I decided I wuld do half the pile. Then I decided since half the pile was gone, it no longer looked so big, so more manageable. I could finish tomorrow (or someday soon.). I took a quick rest and then decided since I could do the first half, I could likely do the second half. When I was almost done, and could no longer use the shovel, I decided that using the broom and dust pan would finish up, I would do that later. Until I changed my mind and thought it would be so wonderful if the task was done and no longer on my mental to do list. I broomed it all up. Put the remaining pebbles onto my pebble pad and the leaves and debris into the trash bag. I put the trash bag out in enough time for the trash people to and fetch it. I love it when the contractor bags aren’t too, too heavy and this one was just right to be able to carry (not drag) out. Now where the unsightly pile was is broom clean and my pebble pad is full to the brim with new pebbles! And I WAS strong enough to do it myself. All fabulous tings!
