Dear Neighborhood
The weather has been nice and maybe I have been outside more, although i think not. When I went to mail a letter in the corner mailbox my neighbor to the east was on her steps with her new baby and talked for about 1/2 hour. Citing that I wanted to get inside to participate in a monthly NVC zoom class run by Miki Kashtan, I happened upon my new neighbor just west of me. Actually, is was the mother and aunt of the woman moving in. We spoke also for about 1/2 hour. Her daughter making settlement in the afternoon. I mailed my letter, and decided to do an errand before heading down and meeting another neigh to take a look at the site where she is building her new home. It’s challenging for me to miss an opportunity to talk about building and design. After the site visit, we took a walk to the coffee shop which used to be my favorite for doing computer work in the morning. When we left to do the rest of our days, I was heading south on 4th Street and just happened to catch a glimpse of my dear friend Tommy crossing the street. We stopped and caught up for a while before going our separate ways. Yesterday was sort of like that as well. People showing up and helping me with garden work while catching up. Philadelphia is truly a small town with big city amenities.
